My name is Kathrin, but in a lot of places around the world people have problems to pronounce that German name. So as I was living in Chile people start to call me Kata. I just stick to that.
I was born in Stuttgart, Germany. My parents told me all about their travels to foreign country’s they did before I was born. We also went on holidays to Turkey or Portugal.

So even when I was a little kid we would never just lay on a beach in an all-inclusive hotel. We would make travels to learn about other countries, cultures, the way of living there, nature and to get to know people.

As I grew up I wanted to travel more but money was shot while I was in school and studied. But I managed to get a scholarship after my bachelor degree and spend 5 month in Cape Town, South Africa to improve my English.

With my time in SA the passion to travel around, even on a small budget was consolidated.

So as I came back and started my masters program it was clear for me that I want to spend a semester abroad to learn another language. So I decided to go to Chile. As I got to know the culture and people there 5 month became a year.

And after my masters degree I could finally do the travel that I wanted to do since I was 14 years old and saved money for all the time. I went 3 month to Southeast Asia to travel with my backpack through Thailand, Lao, Cambodia and India.
I had tasted blood and found my true passion. So this is why I started this blog. The rest of the story will be posted here.
